I Survived Series

Anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE historical fiction books. They teach us about the past but puts it into a story to make it kid appropriate and enjoyable. This year I have been reading with my first grade son the I Survived Series. We have read through nine of the books so far. It has become one of our favorite times together. You know that feeling when your child says to you, "No Mom, let's read another chapter." Lauren Tarshis does a fantastic job showing kids a sneak peak of tragic events.
