I have loved this book since I was young. My mom read it to my brothers and me. It is a great book for boys and anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Every year I read this to my third grade students and every year I have kids sitting on the edge of their seats. The best thing about this book is there are others... Brian's Winter, Brian's Hunt, The River and Brian's Return.
Hatchet is about a boy named Brian. He is flying to visit his dad for the summer when the plane goes down in the Canadian woods. Brian is forced to learn the way of the land as he fights to survive each day. Will Brian make it? Why haven't they rescued him yet?
